Frequently asked

Quick answers on delivery, ingredients, sourcing and how to buy.

Who are you? Where did Awfully Posh come from?

We’re a British snack brand founded in 2010 by Tom Lock, who started life on the fresh meat counter at Waitrose. The short version: we make pork rinds, baked peanuts and gourmet popcorn the proper way, in small batches, with two ingredients on the label. The longer version is on our Our Story page.

How much is delivery?

We offer free delivery on all orders!

Where do you deliver to?

Currently we deliver to any mainland UK address (excluding the Scottish Highlands). Regrettably, we are unable to deliver internationally.

When will I receive my order?

If you order before 12pm, it will be dispatched on the same day, on a DPD next working day delivery service.

Is there a minimum order?

There is no minimum order, and we offer a mixed case if you want to try all of our flavours!

What makes your pork snacks different?

The pork rind we use, where we cook it, and what we put on the label. Three things, in short:

  • Prime cuts of rind, not off-cuts, so every piece is the same size and shape.
  • Fresh, never frozen: cooked in Denmark, the largest pork market in Europe.
  • Two ingredients on the label: pork, and sea salt.

See the questions below for the detail on each.

Why prime cuts of pork rind, not off-cuts?

Most UK pork-snack manufacturers use “off-cuts”, the by-product left over from butchery. That gives you wildly inconsistent piece sizes, chunks of fat, and the occasional bristle.

We start from prime cuts of rind, so every piece in the bag is uniformly sized and properly cleaned. A bit more expensive to source, a lot more enjoyable to eat.

Why fresh rind, not frozen? And why Denmark?

Almost all UK-produced pork snacks use frozen rind, imported from the EU. Frozen rind gives a measurably worse end product. Drier, less flavour, denser texture.

We have our snacks made in Denmark instead, the largest pork market in Europe, so the rind reaches the fryer fresh, the day it’s portioned. It’s an extra step that earns a much better bag of pork crackling.

Why only two ingredients on the label?

Because that’s all good pork crackling needs. Pork rind and sea salt. Nothing else.

No flavourings, no preservatives, no emulsifiers, no MSG, no rapeseed oil. The flavour comes from the rind, the rendering process, and the salt. Adding anything else would be hiding behind it.

What’s the difference between Pork Scratchings, Pork Crackling and Pork Puffs?

Both Pork Scratchings and Pork Crackling are made using leg rind. They have slightly different fat/skin ratios and different cooking methods that result in Pork Scratchings being much more brittle, compared to the slightly lighter and crisper Pork Crackling. Pork Puffs however are made using back rind, which is completely free of fat and results in a very puffed texture, and a lower fat content.

Do you offer trade pricing?
